11 December 2017

Although some 89% of Indonesian primary school aged children attend school, they are not necessarily learning anything much. Indonesia is ranked in the lowest ten in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). Research, such as that done by The World Bank, shows teachers make a huge difference. Teacher passion for their students learning seems to be a key, making some 30% difference in student outcomes. And good teachers need to be have a supportive structure around them.

3 November 2017

One state winner of our giveway in the SFS September enews was teacher, Jo Rowlands, in Victoria. She asked for tickets to see CDP's Horrible Harriet at the Frankston Arts Centre in the holidays because her daughter, Tessa, is a huge fan of the books.

Thanks to FAC for giving her the tickets. Thanks to Jo for subscribing. This is what she said:

"Thank you so much for organising the tickets. Tessa loved the show. I think it was well done and appealing to kids"
