About

EDUCATION – LEARN MORE

Welcome to our 2024 Arts Education Program.

We believe all young people deserve access to entertaining and enriching cultural experiences. This belief underpins our longstanding commitment to Arts Education programming.

Our Arts Education Program is carefully curated to provide inspiring arts experiences that also have strong alignment with the NSW curriculum.

We work closely with our partner companies and producers to provide high-quality productions and teaching resources that drive classroom conversation, support learning outcomes, and encourage students to reflect on and engage deeply with key texts and ideas.

This year, we are excited to present a broad range of productions, symposiums and showcases aimed at making arts education an accessible part of students' high school experiences, with events suitable for young people in Stage 4 through to HSC level.

We look forward to welcoming you and your students to the Seymour soon.

The venue

The Seymour Centre is a performing arts centre, housing four performance venues, cafe, bars, expansive foyers and a large leafy courtyard.

We present a diverse range of the best of contemporary performing arts; we host major festivals, present large-scale performances and partner with small and emerging companies to develop and present innovative independent performances.

As well as a fantastic performance space, the Seymour Centre is an ideal venue for exhibitions, launches, conferences and functions.

Access

A lift is located in the main foyer area with access to all foyers and theatres within the centre. Toilets are fully accessible and disabled seating is available in all venues. Access parking and drop off is located on Maze Crescent at the Darlington Campus, the University of Sydney.

For patrons with limited mobility, it is recommended that when booking your tickets you inform our Box Office staff of your requirements in advance to ensure you are seated appropriately. If you have any questions about accessibility, please call the Box Office on 02 7255 1561.

Parking

Located conveniently at the Broadway end of the city, the Seymour is close to Central and Redfern Stations, with great bus and rail links, ample parking and plenty of nearby facilities. Pedestrian access is from City Road directly opposite Victoria Park.

If you are coming by school coach or mini bus, the best drop-off point is Maze Crescent, behind the Seymour, accessible either from City Road via Butlin Avenue. There is a drop-off point on City Road about 100 metres up from the Seymour Centre after the bus stop, but coaches must not wait in this area.

The Seymour Centre is adjacent to Victoria Park – a perfect spot for a pre or post-show picnic. Alternatively, the Seymour has a large shaded courtyard and expansive foyers where students can enjoy their lunch.

Drinks and snacks are available for purchase from one hour prior to each performance.

Older students might like to make their way to the Broadway Shopping Centre food court which is just a short walk a way.
