Our Magic Journey performances cater for students at pre-school and lower primary and levels.

A Flying Bookworm incursion will bring vibrancy and theatricality to your students’ learning. Expect students to be enlivened, entertained, engaged and educated by their experience. Anticipate that your students will leave the performance motivated to build on that experience.

The Flying Bookworm Theatre Company tours throughout the school year and reaches all corners of Australia. Have theatre company, will travel. And that means to your door! Get in touch to discuss dates.

The Flying Bookworm actors are knowledgeable on all aspects of and the codes of Professional Conduct and responsibilities that apply when working with children. The FBTC is aware of the pressures on staff and so ensures the administrative and booking processes are simple and straight forward.

Each performance goes for 45 - 50 minutes minutes and contains three stories which are selected by… YOU! By choosing the stories from our selection that suit you best, you can ensure that your students get the most out of the experience.

Our actors are highly trained, but they are not the stars of the show… your students are! Our Magic Journey programme emphasises participation and puts some of your students in starring roles.

For our Pre-School audiences, we understand that sometimes a live show in your kinder room may be a little overwhelming for some students. Our actors are aware of the needs of the audience and will adjust a performance to accommodate those needs.

Opening stories (choose one)
THE LITTE RED HEN
This determined little Hen just needs a little bit of help, but none of the other animals on the farm will lend a hand. In a wonderful story about doing it yourself and seeing why it's so important to help others, the Little Red Hen will get the bread made, without any help at all.

CUSTARD THE DRAGON
A Classic poem about a pet dragon by American poet Ogden Nash. As the saying goes, 'don't judge a book by it's cover'.
Filled with fantastic characters and lots of silliness, this wild tale brings the magic of language to life in the most fun way possible.

MARKET SQUARE -A.A Milne
This beautiful poem bursts to life in classic Bookworm style as a young girl goes searching for pet rabbit of their very own, but meets lots of crazy characters along the way instead.

THE GIGANTIC TURNIP
Our Farmer has an empty space in his garden, what could he plant there?
How about a sprinkle of fun, a handful of silly and a giant scoop of mayhem!
It all adds up to a great big enormous problem! A classic tale about teamwork.

JACK AND THE BEANSTALK
Magic beans! Giants! Cows!
Jack trades his cow for some beans and it leads to an adventure he could never imagine. Filled with giants, beanstalks and golden eggs.
It's Fi-Fie-Fo-Fun!

THE THREE BILLY GOATS GRUFF
Join Hans and Helga as they tell the famous much loved story. By the way, our troll is really not very scary, but he’s very silly and great fun. A great way to learn about words like big, middle size, and little. Lots of laughter to be had!

CAPS FOR SALE
A sleepy capseller, some cheeky monkey's and a whole lot of fun. Through repetition, gesture, body language and words the capseller shows us some of the many many ways we can communicate with each other while giving everyone who's watching a very big laugh.

Performance Requirements
We tour all year! All we need is a nice clear space, 3 meters by 3 meters, and enough room for your students to sit comfortably. We have no AV requirements.
