Aussie School Holidays Mismatch

The state school systems cope differently with an early Easter . Tomorrow we have Queensland and Victoria beginning their Term 1 holidays. The rest of the country finishes Term 1 on April 1 (NT) , April 8 (most) or April 15 (SA). 

Apart from NT dates, which reflect the climate, you'd think the others might align...

It's always fun to see what you're booking - it's ranged from the Summer of the Seventeenth Doll  to Hippo Hippo with lots of incursions across dance, music, cultural groups, australiana...fantastic.

A few thoughts - it wasn't that long ago that female teachers had to retire when they married, or even in the 70's female teachers could opt out of super, because after all they would marry and their husbands would look after them...

Turnbull Govt Worse For The Arts Than Abbot's

The arts community was hopeful that under Turnbull's leadership, the strange policy of Arts Minister, George Brandis, under the Abbot Government, would be reversed and some logic restored to funding the sector.

Not only has that not happened, with increased cuts, the reality is the Turnbull Government is actually worse. Granted Turnbull is a less embarrassing speaker to have at your event, but he's done our sector no favours.
