The venue
Bendigo Venues and Events (BV&E), a business unit of the City of Greater Bendigo, operate a suite of venues and performing arts facilities including, the Capital Theatre, Ulumbarra Theatre, the Engine Room (and Dudley House exhibition space and the Bendigo Town Hall). Our yearly Theatre Season (including Soul Food and Parlour Sessions music programs) and Education program offer a range of experiences for the entire community.
The Capital and Ulumbarra Theatres- Bendigo's Performing Arts Centres host a range of musical, drama, dance, cabaret and comedy shows and workshops, with over 150 performances held each year. We aim to make arts experiences accessible for all to participate, and nurture professional practice, education and community involvement.
The Capital's main theatre seats 480, with additional rooms and neighbouring venues available for smaller performances, rehearsals, workshops and other events.
Ulumbarra is a world-class venue with a 960-seat auditorium, break-out rooms and landscaped courtyards.

Ulumbarra Theatre and The Capital both have a lift and special seating available, please let us know if these are needed at the time of your booking.
Hearing aid loop
A section of The Capital Theatre and Ulumbarra Theatre auditorium is equipped with a hearing loop sound system for use by people with hearing aids.
Companion Card
The Capital and Ulumbarra Theatre accept the Companion Card. Carers and attendants accompanying cardholders receive free entry to shows and events. A Companion Card must be presented when booking. Contact our Box Office for details.

The Capital is situated in Bendigo's View Street Arts Precinct, next door to the Bendigo Art Gallery and across the road from the La Trobe University Visual Arts Centre.
