'An electrifying tale of survival and redemption - Five stars'Nick Pilgrim, Theatre People
Rick Springfield has had a hugely successful musical and acting career. Growing up in Melbourne in the 1960s and 70s, his early life was spent playing in bands such as Zoot but also going to the Vietnam War. He went to America as a 22 year old wanting a career in music and over the past five decades has had both dizzying highs and desperate lows.
With family back in Melbourne, he found the journey difficult without them and his mental health (Springfield suffers from Depression) was something that continually challenged him as he raised his own family and continued to make music and films. Springfield has sold over over 25 million albums.
Late, Late at Night is a story of triumph, persistence, dedication and an inspiration to young people wishing for an artistic life and the chance to follow what they truly believe in.
Late, Late at Night stars rising Sydney performer, Jackson Carroll. Directed by Robert Johnson. This schools production is a 50 minute, shortened work, adapted from the two hour plus stage show.
The show can be performed in any space. It does not necessarily require a theatre or stage. We bring a small, portable set and sound equipment. The show is designed for a quick set-up and pack-up making it ideal for daytime school performances as well as evenings.
