My son went to this at Warnbro library and thoroughly enjoyed it. He loved the 500 million year old fossils!

In this popular workshop children travel through time to investigate extinct life. Through images, sounds and hands on activities, children discuss the importance of fossils and what they can tell us. Younger children use art, music and a dinosaur food hunt to explore the past and how fossils help us understand our world. Older and younger children have the opportunity to handle a range of fossils, understand processes required for fossilisation and recreate their own fossil using their understanding of chemistry. Older classes conduct their own dig putting together giant puzzles of extinct animals in teams. Each child goes home with a plaster cast of an extinct marine organism. Children are encouraged to discuss the processes of fossilisation and their significance in the context of Western Australia.
