Mr Burns Haunts Adelaide

27 April 2017

Mr Burns - A Post-Electric Play , presented by State Theatre Company of SA, dazzled opening night crowds last night at the Adelaide Festival Centre, as this oddball comedy propelled audience and media beyond the end of the world and into a shatteringly funny future where The Simpsons has become legend. At the Festival Centre until May 13.

We can't wait to see it!

Exec Director of Belvoir moves to National Theatre of Scotland

5 April 2017

Congrats to Brenna Hobbs, pictured above, for all she's achieved at Belvoir. Teachers probably had a hand in this - she began her career at Belvoir as a 15 year old work experience student. For the last nine years, as Exec Director, Belvoir has produced and internationally toured some great work and achieved gender parity for writers and directors. Inspiring.

Magic of Science

4 April 2017

Last week SFS went along to Parkhill Primary, in Victoria, to catch up with The Jollybops - Trevor and Mark, who make science absorbing and entertaining. There's lots of audience participation in the show, including this segment where the teacher's wine glass magically turns water into "wine".

Assistant Principal, Elaine Brady, who booked the shows for the whole school to see for their Science Day, was delighted with the shows and how much the kids were talking about them. SFS had fun and learned some science, too.

Foundation teacher, Jan Tuck said  "The Jollybobs Science show kept the students totally engaged throughout the performance. The Jolly Professor and Rusty the Robot demonstrated science concepts through experiments that involved the audience. An excellent science show. "

The Jollybops tour, mainly to primary schools in Eastern States with four different shows, including the very popular, Science With An Aboriginal Perspective . Check them all out, here
