The performance was fantastic; the children loved it and thought it was extremely funnyAshleigh Seeley, Plenty Parklands Primary School
The kids haven't stopped talking about your performance! They are obsessed with reading today!Catherine Churchward, Beaumaris Primary School
A show looking at the toys we love as well as popular toys through the ages and a great adjunct to the Design and Tech learning unit, "The Secret Life of Toys!" is a fun, interactive way to bring learning about Toys to life. It not only shows toys in a different light, through performers bringing them to life, but also allows students to develop performance skills as part of the show!
“Old Ted and his friends are the Toy Box favourites. But new toys with flashing lights and electronic sounds have arrived! Who will be the most popular? Are all toys valuable in different ways? Discover the history of toys, how they move and most importantly, how they enrich our imaginations. Let’s play!”
An action-packed show highlighting the many uses and purposes of modern and olden day toys. We look at why different toys are designed in their own particular styles, and who they are targeted at, as well as: the history of toys; how different toys compare to each other; the way they move; what they’re made from; and the forces used to make toys move by themselves.
"The Secret Life of Toys!" is also ideal for Prep-Year Three students as an aid to their reading experience, and the ways in which they relate to literature and the world around them. The performance encourages participation in drama and promotes reading. With the help of simple props and costumes, your students become the stars of the shows! All our shows contain positive messages about friendship, sharing, self-belief and tolerance. Various acting techniques are employed - music, poetry, mime, song and narration - to encourage the students.
