"Being a Music Teacher myself, I am always looking for creative ways for my students to learn. Junkyard Beats not only presented a fantastic Music performance, it also integrated ‘Greenie’ ideas and recycling themes."
Megan Fulko Music Teacher St Justin’s, Oran Park

"Junkyard Beats performances are dynamic and interactive - incorporating drama, music, humour and plenty of movement and good noise! The shows are entertaining, interactive and skill building. Junkyard Beats are the ultimate professionals!"
Rozanna Pleshet - Mount Sinai College

Junkyard Beats is an imaginative rhythm group combining drumming, dance, theatre and comedy to create a unique, interactive and captivating experience for their audiences.

The group draw their material and inspiration from everyday life - the streets, the home and the land. In the hands of Junkyard Beats, ordinary household items are transformed into extraordinary booty shaking musical instruments; unwanted junk comes alive in exciting and surprising ways.

This workshop is designed to give participants an introduction to the world of Do It Yourself rhythm and percussion.

Buckets, plastic bags, kitchen utensils, broom sticks, PVC pipes and the human body are just a few of the instruments that are used in our ONE OF A KIND workshops.

We can also create musical instruments with the kids.

More Reviews

Junkyard Beats are a highly talented group of individuals. Their performance was full of energy and humour, displaying a variety of household items and junk for the students to see during their live music performance.
Aleks Vujic - Music Teacher: Casimir Catholic College

The message of sustainability was strong and truly memorable for all of our students. The show you got our kids to perform was a polished touch to the 2 day workshop that will stay with all of our students forever. Please come back next year.
Stephen Gadd - Nundle Public School Principal

Junkyard Beats is a vibrant, energizing, inspirational experience! The message of recycling and re-using is an important one, and children have a first hand experience of the incredible rhythms they can create with materials we might otherwise just throw
Bev Smusko Centre Co-Ordinator Masada Cottage ELC

Their show was upbeat, entertaining, fun, respectful, age appropriate and really funny whilst teaching children about caring for our environment. Their skills as musicians are amazing and they definitely had us all moving and grooving to their beats.
