Early childhood education and care is now back in the Federal Education Portfolio, out of Social Services. So it should be! Viewing early childhood as the start of education is critical to development and having the portfolio so placed says so.
Good move.
Now let's see what Simon Birmingham will do with the whole portfolio.
Research shows students beginning high school suffer, not just for a short time, but they often, lose confidence, are less inclined to be engaged or persevere. Students became more worried and sad, feeling less happiness and optimism and these feelings can last for years.
