Imaginary Friends

Interesting research showing having an imaginary friend as a child better equips adolescents to cope in society and positively aids adults as well. Adults who had an imaginary friend were more creative and imaginative.
Hazel Edwards' successful picture book series about a Hippo on the Roof, is all about the child having an alter ego who could do all the things she couldn't. It obviously has resonated with children and adults for over 30 years.
