What do puppeteers do in lockdown?

2 June 2020

Make a new show!

Internationally awarded puppet company, Dream Puppets offer several incursions to Victorian schools, all starring the character "Dreamer", who has wonderful adventures. The company's two principals conceive all elements of their shows - and make everything. While in lockdown, Richard has made a cat puppet for a show in development. It's an allegory about the Covid19 lockdown, called Dreamer and the Rainbow Cat. The puppets are exquisite and take ages to make.

15 May 2020

With some restrictions being lifted, there's hope of a return to "normal", but while many schools have few students, teachers need to adapt very quickly to different ways of teaching.

We hope teachers will see the benefit of booking online events to inspire their students, whether they're at home or at school.

NSW Schools went "back" yesterday

1 May 2020

Some states have very few students physically at school, others, like WA have larger cohorts.

Don't forget the arts. On SFS we have both digital events, some pre recorded, some live, as well as our usual live offerings.

Arts workers have made concerted efforts to bring their work to you online, to the benefit of you and your students. For once, schools will not be limited by location.

Check our digital events here - they are recognisable by a hashtag beginning the title.
